Summer Reading Program

"Read to the Rhythm" is coming to the Elizabeth Township Public Library for our Summer Reading Program. Save the dates - June 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th for music and reading fun. Stay tuned for more details!

Emergency Closing

The Library policy is that if River Ridge School is closed so are we.  Due to snow and extreme temperatures today February 2nd we will be closed.  This will allow for snow removal teams to do their work and keep our patrons and employees safe.

Fines for items due today will be waived.  We will reopen on Wednesday, February 4th at 1 PM.

Stay safe, stay warm.

As many of you have noticed from recent newspaper articles, we have expanded our services and offerings thanks to a generous grant from Reaching Across Illinois Library System of which we are member. One of the benefits to you as patrons is that you can now do many things from your own computers and devices. You can now search the PrairieCat holdings for items you wish to borrow, place your own holds and renew your checked out items.

Stop in to see us for more details and information on how to use the system.

Today, January 8th, we will be closing at 5:30 PM due to the extreme weather.  We will reopen tomorrow at 9 AM.

Holiday Hours

We will be closed December 24th and 25th for Christmas.  And will reopen December 26th at 9 AM.

For New Years we will be closed on January 1st and reopen Jan 2nd at 9 AM.

Mrs. Claus Is Coming to the Library!!!

Join us December 6th from 9:30 - 10:30 for a visit from Mrs. Claus.  There will be a story time, snacks and each child will receive a free book from the Northwest Illinois Reading Council.

Summer Reading Program

Today was the last day of our Summer Reading Program. We had record attendance this summer with many promises of returning next year. We want to thank Gwen at Safe Haven for sponsoring our first program at her facility. Thank you also to Anna and Ari for visiting and explaining the responsibilities and training involved in a service dog. We also had a great visit from Deker and Hawk who are Clinton County, IA search and rescue dogs.

We will continue to promote reading throughout the summer so please stop by and see what we have available for check-out.

Paws for Reading

Time to start planning for the Summer Reading Program at the library. Paws for Reading will be an exciting time for us to learn about dogs and cats that are pets and that have special training to help us. Dates for the Summer Reading Program are June 20th, June 27th, July 11th and July 18th. We are working on our program so stay tuned for more details.
